This was originally going to be a post consisting of testimonies from the various outreaches that have taken place in the last few months here at Streams, but as I soon discovered, there is simply FAR too much that I could say, and it would go on for hours. I may share one or two recent stories, but I think I’m going to head in a different direction. Straight from the heart :-)

First, let me briefly describe an outreach. Outreaches vary quite a bit, and can be anything; from a large scale organized event at the Richmond night markets in which we (students) do prophetic ministry and dream interpretation in a “veiled” manner; to just grabbing a few chairs and one other person and heading into downtown Vancouver and offering “Free Healing.” We have found that most people have had bad experiences with “Christians” or have been hurt by a church… go figure… so we use veiled language.  Prophecy, Deliverance, and other such lingo is a huge turn off, but people are incredibly open to “Spiritual Readings, Spiritual Cleansing, Spiritual Encounters, Etc…” “The Creator” or “Spirit of Truth”, or Even the “Great Light” are all words we use for God. Simply put, we speak in terms they understand and can relate to, and are not turned off to due to past experiences. If this offends you. I really don’t care. It works.

In any case, I didn’t mean to get into all that. What I wanted to say is that there are a TON of people in this world with no hope, no joy, no love, and no Jesus. When they leave our booth, get up from the chairs, or whatever the setting, many leave with their jaw on the floor. EVERY SINGLE ONE leaves encouraged, hopeful, loved, and confused. “How did you know that about me?” “Why are you doing this for free?” “Who is this Creator that you speak of, and how can I get to know Him?” are all very common questions. We regularly see people changed, set free, encouraged, healed, and more in only about 10-20 minutes.

For some, this is a cool opportunity to put into practice what we learn, for others, its stretching and just a hard thing that is also a good learning opportunity. However for some (myself included) it’s a calling. Its an addiction. I can’t wait to get out on the streets every chance I get, and see people transformed before my eyes. No. Not every second of it is a heart pounding adrenaline rush… but the good times; ARE INCREDIBLE.

Let me just say this; the hardest part is not stepping out and being bold, prophesying, or praying for healing for people, or any of that. The hard part, is also what makes it the most effective and also the most rewarding; We go without motive. Meaning: we are not out to convert people. We go to LOVE and to share the Joy and Peace and Hope that we have found. If it goes to more than that, then AWESOME. If not, that’s fine. They are forever changed regardless of what they decide that moment. Without love, none of it would matter anyways. Just show up, and Love. That’s it. That’s the secret. That’s the key. End of Story.

Anyways, All that to say: Get out there and do it. This is getting long though so I’ll Put Testimonies up at another time. Shabba.

  3. Cool the last part is what I felt yesterday when I was out evangising in Stockholm:

Just loving people is enough and shareing something that we found that is the greatest thing in the world.. Not being panicing evangelising, without love and happiness! Cause that will just eat you up in the long run, and isn’t so attracting!
